Western Jet Aviation Academy [WJAA]

In partnership with Western Jet Aviation, a Standard Aero company, we are dedicated to providing veterans with a meaningful career in Aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO Technicians). We offer tooling, mentorship, coaching, and support to help veterans successfully complete the Western Jet Aviation Academy (WJAA) and transition into civilian aviation career.

The Academy is structured into two phases. The first phase consists of a 90-day blend of classroom and hands-on basic training. In the second phase, participants work under the guidance of a team lead in the On-the-Job Training (OJT) program. After accumulating approximately 18 months for Airframe or 30 months for both Airframe and Powerplant, candidates can apply for a license and receive sponsorship to become an aircraft mechanic. Beyond the academy, WIN will continue to support and mentor veterans throughout their aviation career.

This program is not just a training Academy or internship; candidates accepted into the program are employed by Standard Aero and paid $25-$30 per hour based on their background and experience during phases one and two. Upon completion of phase two and obtaining a license as an Aircraft Mechanic (AP), candidates advance to a tech one position with a significant pay raise as technicians employed by Standard Aero as a licensed mechanic.

Through our collaboration with Western Jet Aviation, we are committed to supporting veterans in acquiring valuable skills and advancing their careers in the aviation industry. We are dedicated to equipping veterans with opportunities for fulfilling and sustainable career growth.
